COURSE
Corporate Governance in China
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The course overview
This course is designed to emerge students into the key facets of corporate governance and provide a deeper understanding towards the complexities of applying corporate governance principles within an organizational setting. Through frequent case study and discussion, the linkage between governance and performance will be clearly highlighted. Commencing with a foundational understanding of Agency Theory and Corporate Governance as a tool for Risk Management & Compliance, students will come to grasp how Corporate Governance – when proactively applied – can transcend regular corporate functions to become a highly strategic focal point for business that includes all aspects of organizational life. Students will embed themselves into a real and ongoing simulation that shall require them to get into the mindsets of employees, partners, HQ, suppliers, and a range of other stakeholders in China. They will learn the importance of stakeholder engagement, how organizational culture makes or breaks a company, and ultimately what makes a successful change driver to steer an organization in todays’ VUCA world.
