Last week a client wanted to case study a Fortune 500 company; a company with over 150,000 employees and active in over 100 countries; a company that has experienced challenges in internationalising its’ business model, and yet is positioned to grasp the opportunities that come with the Belt and Road Initiative.
We chose my clients company. It fit the bill perfectly!!
We usually focus on reading up on what other companies are doing and reflecting on how/what we can learn from them.
This week, Outlander Consulting enjoyed working with over 100 CRRC executives to case study what CRRC is doing across the globe. We reviewed projects across over 15 countries; explored the various cultural and bureaucratic challenges plaguing all aspects of project management; critiqued limitations in CRRC’s business model and used key learnings to highlight how to improve forward services and project agreements.
It’s great to look at what other companies are doing. However, we shouldn’t forget to realise that there is so much to learn by more deeply studying what our own divisions / subsidiaries / JVs are already doing Imagine how much you can learn from peers in your own company!
